"The new electronic interdependence recreates the world in the image of a global village."
- Marshall McLuhan, "Gutenberg Galaxy", 1962

- Ray Bradbury, "Fahrenheit 451", 1951

Siri, lost in translation struggles with a Boston accent.

Remember Newton?

Accents and handwriting are variables that are difficult to predict. Both Newton and Siri learned the more you used it but the process was frustrating. Today’s eGeneration has little patience for technology. Apple taught us that if we touch the screen we get instant gratification. Will my mumbling son have the patience to stick with Siri as it learns his monosyllabic grunt? Probably not.
